Healthy Hospitals: Changing Climate in Healthcare Facilities and Institutions AMDR is proud to participate in the Association of Climate Change Officers event, Health Hospitals: Changing Climate in Healthcare Facilities and Institutions, June 13 and 14 in Washington, DC. Co-presented by Practice Greenhealth, among others, the event includes discussions examining opportunities to modernize healthcare institutions and facilities with respect to energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and improved patient response.
ABA’s Physician-Legal Issues Conference The American Bar Association’s Physician-Legal Issues Conference will be held in Chicago June 16 and 17, 2011 at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. The forum is to address how healthcare reform will impact the current business of healthcare for physicians.
HTAi 2011 The Health Technology Assessment Internation (HTAi) will hold its HTA for Health Systems Sustainability conference in Rio de Janeiro, June 27-29, 2011. FDA Public Workshop – Unique Device Identification (UDI) for Postmarket Surveillance and Compliance This meeting will be held September 12-13 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Bethesda, MD. The purpose of this workshop is to engage multiple stakeholders to obtain information and comments on issues confronting the effective and efficient incorporation of UDIs into appropriate data sets, to identify barriers and incentives to their adoption and use, and to understand the best solutions and practices to resolve open issues.
FDA Public Meeting – Recommendations Proposed in Institute of Medicine Report: “Medical Devices and the Public’s Health, The FDA 510(k) Clearance Process at 35 Years” This meeting will be held on September 16, beginning at 8:30 a.m., at the Silver Spring Hilton Hotel in Silver Spring, MD. The purpose of the public meeting is to encourage public comment on the recommendations proposed in the Institute of Medicine (IOM) report.

AAMI/FDA Medical Device Reprocessing Summit AAMI and FDA co-host a medical device reprocessing summit October 11 and 12 in Silver Spring, Maryland. This event intends to build on FDA’s June 8-9 public workshop on reprocessing of reusable medical devices. Leaders from industry, regulatory bodies, and associations; clinicians from healthcare institutions; subject experts; patient safety officers; researchers; and others are all expected.

Medica Congress, the European Hospital and Healthcare Federation (HOPE) and the Gesellschaft Deutscher Krankenhaustag (GDK) will hold their Congresses together in the first joint European Hospital Conference.
