www.dotmed.com reports Colorado Governor, Legislators Initiate State Health Reform Measures (02/17/10):

Stating that the state of Colorado “can’t wait for Washington to act,” Governor Bill Ritter has announced new health care legislation including ten bills and an executive order. Governor Ritter says that the legislation “will focus on three main areas of health care: increasing cost-savings, efficiencies and accountability; improving public and private systems; and protecting and improving care for women.”

AMDR applauds the Governor and legislators in their efforts to increase cost-savings.  We encourage the state to fully support hospital use of FDA-regulated, third-party medical device reprocessing companies as a way to dramatically cut medical device costs (and waste) and continue to provide safe and effective care.
